The Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), founded in 1863, is the largest Polytechnic University in Italy and it has approximately 2.100 employees of which 1200 are scientists. It is ranked as one of the most important European universities in Engineering, Architecture and Industrial Design, and in many disciplines is regarded as a leading research institution worldwide. The Biosignal, Bioimaging and Bioinformatics Group (BBB) of the Department of Electronic, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB) is composed by 9 Faculties and 20 PhD students and Post-doc. It has longstanding expertise in the processing of vital signals (EEG, evoked potentials, ECG, arterial pressure, respiration, etc.) for the study of biological systems with emphasis on neuro-sensory and cardiovascular systems. The BBB Group has also expertise in biomedical image processing for lesion/tumor segmentation, classification and staging using feature extraction and fusion methods. The latter activity is carried out in cooperation with INT through the Joint-initiative of the Laboratory of Advanced Radiological Analysis (LARA).
